Just how much will "carbon negativity" cost us- and to what end?
Governor Gordon knows his plans to "decarbonize the west" are untenable. He's pursuing them anyway.
In February, the Wyoming Legislature will convene to approve the state’s next biennial budget. This week, Governor Gordon presented his office’s budget requests to the Joint Appropriations Committee. During his prepared remarks, he asked the legislature for $695K for the state Office of Consumer Advocate to help fight runaway utility rate increases.
In making this ask, the Governor told the truth when he stated that “net-zero” carbon policies victimize Wyomingites.
October 23: “…one that I’m very proud of for Wyoming is that we are the first state that has said we’re going to be carbon negative.”
December 12: “Consumer states with ambitions for 100 renewable portfolios or net zero carbon emissions have established policies which victimize Wyoming citizens with higher rate requests and opaque supply trajectories.”
Why, then, did the Governor hop on the next flight to Boise to attend the “Decarbonizing the West” workshop- an initiative he is responsible for and proud of establishing as chairman of the Western Governor’s Association?
Why does the Governor tout his push for “carbon negativity” at Harvard University, on 60 Minutes, and alongside Biden’s radical Deb Halaand when he knows these policies victimize the people of Wyoming?
The Governor owes the people of Wyoming an explanation. What exactly are we expected to pay today in order to see a reduction in global temperatures of one degree Celsius, twenty summers from now?
You can ask the Governor these questions and more by contacting his office.
The Wyoming Freedom Caucus refuses to accept that our only option is to manage the regulatory-induced decline of our legacy industries.
We refuse to accept the reality that here in Wyoming, we must pay more for basic necessities in order to make woke California environmentalists feel better about themselves.
We will always fight for our legacy industries and for Wyoming- America’s last hope.
