Wyoming Democrats are afraid of the "dangerous" Wyoming Freedom Caucus-- but they're okay with liberal Republicans.
Last week, the Wyoming Democrats held their state convention. A major topic of conversation was the party’s nervousness about the Wyoming Freedom Caucus.
Describing the Freedom Caucus as a “threat,” these Dems — who support the castration of children and the murder of the unborn — discussed their plans to stop us from gaining seats in the Wyoming Legislature this election.
Based on reporting from their meeting, liberal “Wyoming Caucus” Republicans aren’t so scary to them.
[The convention] was chaired by state Rep. Ken Chestek, D-Laramie, one of the seven Democrats in the 93-member Wyoming Legislature. Chestek made the Freedom Caucus a focus of his speech, saying the group is “dangerous” and wants to “turn back the clock” on many rights in the state, an effort he said needs to be defeated.
Not considered a threat to Chestek are other state Republicans, who he referred to as “normal.” Chestek said he works with these legislators on bills “all the time” due to the supermajority Republicans hold and the political realities that come with that. Chestek believes there needs to be more moderate and centrist representation statewide, which he believes represents the majority view of the state’s residents.
“I’m not opposed to Republicans generally,” he said. “I’m opposed to the far-right wing policies of the Freedom Caucus.”
As the Democrat party drifts further and further to the left, it’s notable that those still willing to affiliate with them consider the liberal Republicans of the “Wyoming Caucus” to be their pals.
If today’s Dems are openly afraid of you, you’re doing something right. If they’re not, you might want to reconsider your priorities.
