Conservative works better than liberal. This session proves it. Here’s what your WYFC-led House of Representatives achieved over the last 37 days in Cheyenne:
Election Integrity
Our top priority bill to require proof of Wyoming residency and US citizenship when registering to vote overwhelmingly passed the Legislature and is currently on Governor Gordon’s desk awaiting his signature.
A bill to ban foreign funding of ballot measures was signed into law.
A bill to ban ranked choice voting in Wyoming awaits the Governor’s signature.
Tax Relief
A long-term 25% tax cut on residential property taxes up to the first $1 million in value was signed into law.
A $75K property tax cut for Wyoming businesses was signed into law.
A bill to reduce the coal severance tax rate was signed into law.
Immigration Accountability
Our bill to invalidate driver’s licenses issued to illegal aliens was allowed to take effect without Governor Gordon’s signature.
A bill to ban sanctuary cities in Wyoming awaits the Governor’s signature.
Ending ESG Investing
Despite the best efforts of deep state insiders to continue the practice of investing your tax dollars in woke ESG funds, the WYFC sent a bill banning this practice to the Governor. It awaits his signature.
Restoring Meritocracy
Our bill to prohibit discriminatory DEI in state institutions, including the University of Wyoming and our K-12 schools, was signed into law.
Real School Choice
Our bill to end government surveillance of homeschool curriculum was signed into law.
A bill to create universal school choice for all Wyoming kids was signed into law— and we thwarted efforts by the Senate to shoehorn universal daycare into the bill.
Standing for Our Industries
We achieved oil and gas bonding reform to allow mom & pop companies to pool their resources and meet burdensome federal regulations.
After many years of fighting, we passed mandatory country of origin labeling requirements to protect Wyoming cattlemen.
Protecting Women & Girls
A bill to protect our UW Cowgirl athletes from being forced to compete against deranged men passed the Legislature and awaits the Governor’s signature.
Our bill to codify statutory definitions for “woman” and “man” awaits the Governor’s signature.
Restoring Second Amendment Rights
Our bill to repeal deadly gun free zones was allowed to take effect without the Governor’s signature.
There are Two Chambers
Not all of the people’s priorities survived the Legislative session. After all, there are two chambers, and every bill must survive both. Here are some bills we were disappointed to see halted in the upper chamber:
Bills to strengthen Wyoming’s voter ID law by requiring photo ID and removing student ID from the list of acceptable forms of voter ID were both killed by the Senate.
Our bill to ban unattended ballot drop boxes was killed by Senate leadership.
A bill to prohibit ballot harvesting was killed by Senate leadership.
Our bill to protect the rights of poll watchers was killed by Senate leadership.
Our bill to establish runoff elections was killed by Senate leadership.
A bill to prevent local governments from assessing unconstitutional “affordable housing” fees on private developers was killed by Senate leadership.
A bill to establish real property tax reform and end taxation of unrealized gains was killed by the Senate.
Our bill to repeal Wyoming’s carbon capture regulations was killed by the Senate.
A common sense bill to prohibit the Chinese Communist Party from buying Wyoming agricultural land was killed by the Senate.
A bill to prohibit tax dollars from being used to fund drag shows was killed by Senate leadership.
Despite these bills meeting an untimely end in the Senate, the WYFC is proud of the reforms we’ve achieved in just one session with a conservative majority in the Wyoming House of Representatives.
We delivered on the people’s priorities— and we won’t stop fighting for Wyoming, America’s last hope.
