As we’ve always said, Wyoming government doesn’t have a revenue problem — it has a spending problem — so much so that our own long-term fiscal forecasts warn of a nearly $700 million budget shortfall within four years if the Legislature doesn’t get its act together.
With our majority in the Wyoming House, we’ve made it our mission to correct course. It’s time to pump the brakes on out-of-control spending.
Our position on the next biennial budget is clear: the State must return to pre-pandemic spending levels and renew our commitment to fiscal responsibility. Our top priority in Cheyenne this winter will be to rein in the size and scope of government, restore discipline to the budgeting process, and protect taxpayers from the consequences of reckless fiscal policy.
